It's been a long time between drinks. How is it that life seems to get in the way of getting away in the caravan. There always seems to be something that needs to be done. I hate that!
Well, we finally managed to get a week-end away and, you guessed it, back to Woodgate. We really do like it there. Of course it rained (that goes without saying), but we were still able to ride our bikes along the esplanade, go fishing and walking and just enjoy the serenity.
It was a real week-end of firsts ...... you will be pleased to know that we finally gave the toilet a test-run for the first time as well as the shower and, for the big one .... THE STOVE!!!!! And, people actually chatted to us this time .... we must be getting it right.
Even though we were at the caravan park, plugged into electricity I decided it was time to give the loo and shower a trial. Everytime we take the caravan away we get rain so I really needed to work out the whole toilet/shower regime so I didn't have to run to the loo in the pouring rain in my PJs.
As "GLAMPERS", we will normally be in caravan parks but I decided to be a bit adventurous and trial "free camping" with the safety back-up of being plugged into 240volts. I am no Bear Grills!
And no, I didn't cook up a storm on the stove but we did use the electric hot plate (and the microwave - I forgot about that). At least we didn't eat out for every meal so I think we've come a long way since our Noosa holiday.
So, we can now use the toilet, the shower and the stove so, our next step will be to actually try free-camping without the back-up. A bit like being an acrobat without the net (ha ha)
We are planning our next trip to Airlie Beach for a couple of weeks so I'm sure we will get the opportunity to try free-camping and see if the solar panels really do work .......
We are becoming very proficient these days. From the time we arrive at the caravan park to when we are actually sipping wine is getting shorter and shorter ..........
Is there a record?
